10 Baby Safety Products You Should Get Before Baby Arrives
Using baby safety products is super important! And I feel, should be done BEFORE your little bundle arrives. Because before you know it, they’re gonna be crawling and walking around everywhere. And they will get into EVERYTHING.
Like literally everything.
So if you do it before baby arrives you won’t have to worry about doing it later when you’re tired AND taking care of a baby.
Is Baby Proofing Necessary?
I would definitely say yes!
It won’t only keep baby from accidentally hurting themselves but it will also make life MUCH easier for you!
That way you won’t have to consistently be racing towards a curious baby 24/7.
So check out this list of 10 baby proofing products that you can get through Amazon!

Baby Safety Products
1. Fridge Locks
I don’t know about you but my little one LOVES getting into the fridge. She will pull everything out and thinks it’s a blast. Except me.
This Fridge Lock will help keep baby out and make things just a little bit easier for Mom.
What’s cool about this particular baby proofing lock is that it can also be used for cabinets, toilets, fridges, and other appliances!
2. Outlet Covers
My baby ALWAYS (and I feel like pretty much all babies) goes up to outlets! So outlet covers are a must must MUST! They’ll keep baby from sticking their little fingers in there and getting shocked. These are the Outlet Covers I use and I’ve never had a problem with them.
3. A Baby Gate
A quick word of the wise.
Once I realized how much we needed a baby gate I went to the store and bought the cheapest one they had. Cause I figured ya know, a gate was a gate. They’ll all get the job done….right?
Nope, wrong.
The baby gate I purchased DID NOT STAY UP AT ALL. And so I wasted money trying to save money and had to use furniture in the meantime to keep her out or in certain areas.
So don’t be like me.
I was researching Baby Gates and found this one to be more affordable and had good reviews (just be sure to read the product description if you’re thinking about buying it)!
4. Corner and Edge Paddings
Unfortunately, part of learning how to be mobile means falling. ALOT. So baby proofing corners and edges will help so that bay won’t fall right on a hard sharp edge. You can put padding on places like side tables and coffees tables.
You can check out these Baby Edge and Corner Guards here.
5. Plug’N Outlet Cover Box
Obviously you won’t always be able to have outlet covers in. I mean, you’re gonna have your electronics, lamps, and other things plugged in.
And believe me.
Baby will also try to play with those too. So to prevent your baby from pulling out and plugging back in your outlet cords and possibly getting shocked. Hide the ones you can behind furniture and then use Plug’n Outlet Covers on the outlets that are being used. This Outlet Box is extra large so it’ll even hide ones that have bigger electrical plugs and adapters.
6. Blind Cord Wraps
Other than playing and possibly wrecking the binds. Babies can accidentally get tangled and choke on blind cords.
So wrap up your blind cords to help keep baby safe.
These Blind Cord Wraps are easy to use and they help keep them away from the baby.
7. Safety Locks for Cabinets/Drawers
My baby loves playing with the door and taking everything out. Like she could literally do it all day.
Unfortunately, though she has slammed her fingers more than a couple of times.
So to help keep fingers from getting pinched (and to save your sanity of picking everything up over and over) put in magnetic safety locks like these on your drawers and cabinet doors.
8. Doorstops and Holders
My baby has this obsession lately with closing and shutting doors for some reason. So to help keep those baby fingers safe and unpinched get Door Stoppers. These are more on the affordable side and are super easy to use!
Bonus! If you have pets, it’ll help keep them from getting locked in a room!
9. Toilet Locks
These handy locks will help keep baby from putting their hands and toys in the toilet. They will also help prevent the baby from falling in and possibly drowning. You can check out this Toilet Lock here.
And yes this is the same lock from up above! But I couldn’t find a toilet lock that beat this one, so here ya go!
10. Spout Cover
Bathtube facets are hard. And a little baby bonk to the head on one of those is sure to hurt!
This cute Soft Padded Spout Cover is a great baby proofing idea! It’s easily adjustable and is machine washable! But most importantly, It’ll head prevent bumps to the head!
