Essential oils aren’t just for smelling good! In fact, essential oils actually have lots of benefits and uses! You can use them for killing germs, fighting colds, encouraging better moods, and for relaxation. Essential oils have so many uses they may even be able to play a part in daily life! What could they be you might ask? Well, below I put together a list of 11 popular essential oils that can help with 11 common everyday things.

Essential Oils That Can Help You Every day
1. Lavender- Sleep Aid
Along with a number of other things, lavender is well known for its calming effects and sleep qualities. Some studies have suggested that using lavender may help with a better nights sleep. You can do this by putting a couple of drops of lavender essential oil in your bath or you can do it aromatically and add a couple of drops in a diffuser. You can get a Lavender Essential Oil here!
2. Sweet Orange- Promotes Happiness
I LOVE the smell of sweet orange! This all-around happy smell is great for reducing stress, boosting energy, and promoting a happier mood. You can enjoy its benefits by diffusing some in a diffuser. You can get a Sweet Orange Essential Oil here!
3. Eucalyptus- Helps With Common Cold Symptoms
Eucalyptus essential oil is one that’s commonly used for helping with common cold symptoms. This essential oil can help with symptoms like coughing, runny noses, congestion, and sore throats. It’s actually so helpful that even vapor rubs and some over the counter cold medicines contain eucalyptus oil or it’s compound eucalyptol. Try diffusing a couple of drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a diffuser overnight or place 10-15 drops in boiling water and gently inhale the vapor. You can get a Eucalyptus Essential Oil here!
4. Thieves- Germ Fighter
Thieves oil is full of natural anti-bacterial qualities! This essential oil blend is a mixture of Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Radiata, Rosemary, and Lemon essential oils. And not only does it smell good, but it can also help kill airborne viruses and be used as a natural disinfectant for household cleaning! 5. Lemon- Boosts Concentration
As with many other essential oils, lemon has many uses as well. The essential oil lemon has a nice fresh scent that can help relax and lift your mood. 6. Myrrh- Encourages Wound Healing
The essential oil Mryyh has been said to help promote healing as well as reducing pain and inflammation. In fact, Myrrh was used to help heal wounds and prevent infections with it’s antibacterial and antifungal properties thousands of years ago! 7. Peppermint- Helps Keep Bugs Away
Peppermint smells lovely all while keeping those pesky bugs away! You can make your own natural bug repellent for your home by mixing some peppermint essential oil with water and putting it in a spray bottle. 8. Grapefruit- Reduces Bad Odors
Like other citrus fruits, grapefruit can help get rid of bad odors at home. What else? Grapefruit essential oil also has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties making it a great disinfectant! 9. Roman Chamomile- Helps With Minor Burns
Roman Chamomile has been said to be a great essential oil to help treat minor burns. Its anti-inflammatory properties will help reduce puffiness and it’s anti-bacterial so it’ll help treat current infections while preventing future ones. When using it to treat minor burns, mix about 5 drops of roman chamomile oil with 1-2 cups of water then get a cloth and make it into a compress. 10. Tea Tree- Relief for Itchy Skin
Tea tree essential oil has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory equalities making it good at treating itchy and irritated areas. 11. Ginger- Pain Relief
It has been said that ginger may help reduce pain. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and may help increase circulation as well. Ginger has been said to relieve muscle pain, joint pain, menstrual cramps, headaches, and overall soreness. It may even help with upset stomachs and nausea too. Use Caution With Essential Oils
Now, I’m sure you’re all ready to get those essential oils out and start using them but, before you start using any essential oil you should always consult with your doctor or a certified aromatherapist first. Since some essential oils may not be safe to use when you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or around young children. Be sure to always dilute essential oils before using them on your skin and do not take them internally unless you are under the supervision of a licensed professional.
